Former York City, Crawley Town and Southport striker Richard Brodie re-signs for Rushall Olympic

Richard Brodie has re-signed for Rushall Olympic just three months after leaving the club.
The 31-year-old joined their league rivals Warrington Town in June but hasn’t played as regularly as he would have liked.
Brodie scored 34 goals in the 2009-10 season for York and was named Conference player of the season as they lost in the play-off final to Oxford United.
The following season he joined Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee and won promotion to the Football League.
He then joined Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan where he won another another Conference title.
Since then Brodie has represented a number of Non-League sides with spells at Hereford, Gateshead, Southport and Aldershot Town.
More recently he has appeared for Boston United, Skelmersdale United and Solihull Moors.
Brodie told the Rushall website: “I am absolutely delighted to be back here. This was the place where I got my mojo back, where I started to enjoy my football again and, crucially, felt so at home and part of things.
“My decision to leave in the summer was based purely on my family and work commitments, but I need to put myself first and that means coming back here and enjoying my football again. I am very grateful to Liam (McDonald) for leaving the door open for me to come back and giving me this opportunity. I will be doing all I can to repay his faith on the pitch.
“He is a manager who put his trust and faith in me from the start; he got to know me as a player and as a person before forming his own opinions of me. I just want to work hard and help this club get to where it wants to be. You never stop learning in football and are always seeking to better yourself.
“The challenge of playing in this League excites me and I know that I am coming to a very special football club which feels like home, much the same as when I was at York City and played some of the best football of my career.”
