Richard Money has completed a hat-trick of signings at Hartlepool United.
Centre-back Michael Raynes has joined from Crewe, striker Nicke Kabamba from Havant and Waterlooville and Sunderland winger Luke Molyneux have all arrived on loan as Pools look to mount a play-off charge.
The National League club are 11 points adrift of seventh place and have needed defensive reinforcements.
Money told the club’s website: “We’re young, certainly across the back, so an experienced head and someone who is going to communicate what we want on the pitch is what the team needs and that should help us for the rest of the season.
“Under normal circumstances, you wouldn’t think you could get someone like Michael in January so the moment we knew he was available we tried to make it happen pretty quickly.”
Kabamba, pictured, made his name during an eye-catching spell on the books at Hampton & Richmond which persuaded Pompey to pay an undisclosed fee for his services at the start of 2017.
“To be honest, when I got the text that he could be available we jumped at it really quickly because he fits the identity of something we’ve been looking for,” Money added.
“He’s over 6ft, he’s quick and he has a pretty good goalscoring record so I’ll just be telling him to come and enjoy his football for three months and let’s see where it takes us.”
Molyneux, 20, spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Gateshead and played in both games against Pools over the Christmas period.
Money said: “We’ve been working on it for a couple of weeks now and we’re pleased we’ve been able to get it done with Sunderland and with Luke.
“I think he can come in and give us something different to what we currently have.
“He has a great left foot and the one thing people will have seen in his game is the quality of his delivery from set-pieces so we’re delighted to add him to the squad.”
