Southern League South Round Up

There were goals galore in the Southern League South this weekend!

Angels, Borough, Bostik, Bostik League, Bostik Premier, Brightlingsea, Brightlingsea Regent, BTFC, Burgess Hill, Dorking, Dorking Wanderers, Enfield, FA Cup, Folkestone Invicta, Harrow Borough, Hendon, Invicta, Kingstonian, Leiston, margate, Merstham, Met Police, Needham, Needham Market, NLP, Non-League, Thurrock, Tonbridge, Wingate, Wingate & Finchley

League leaders Taunton Town had to survive a late barrage of pressure to hold on to a precious 1-0 win over Walton Casuals to extend their lead at the top to four points and boost their chances of recording back to back promotions.
The third vs fourth place clash between Met Police and Weymouth certainly didn’t disappoint…
With the scores tied at 3-3, Weymouth thought that they had netted a dramatic winner when Cameron Murray smashed home with just five minutes left on the clock.
However, the home side grabbed a last gasp equalizer to share the spoils as Luke Robertson climbed highest to head home a stoppage time goal and send the Met Police supporters into pandemonium.
8 goals in one game is certainly exciting but the match between Basingstoke and Staines went even further as the 13th place Dragons recorded an extraordinary 10-3 win over the league’s bottom club.
A late Jack Scrimshaw strike denied Swindon Supermarine a victory over promotion chasing Poole Town, while Gosport Borough beat Frome Town 3-1 in the relegation six pointer at the other end of the table.
