Lancaster City boss Mark Fell taking temporary break for health reasons

Mark Fell is taking a temporary break from managing BetVictor Northern Premier League Lancaster City for health reasons.
The Dolly Blues confirmed Fell was stepping back from the touchlines on Wednesday in a statement naming his number two Graham Lancashire as caretaker boss.
Former Burnley, Preston, Rochdale and Wigan striker Lancashire, 47, will take charge for the first time on Saturday when City kick off in league action at FC United of Manchester’s Broadhurst Park.

The club said: “Lancaster City Football Club can confirm that manager Mark Fell will be taking a temporary break from his role on health grounds.
“During this break Graham Lancashire will step up to take overall charge of the squad.”
Fell has turned City into title-chasers this season with his side currently second in the NPL’s Premier Division, a point off leaders South Shields.
He celebrated his first year as Dolly Blues boss in October after succeeding Phil Brown at Giant Axe in 2018 with his predecessor’s side rock-bottom of the NPL’s Premier Division.
Together with his assistant Lancashire, he eventually led Lancaster to a respectable mid-table finish after taking charge with the club firmly in the mire and facing up to relegation.
