Dorset Premier League

Only two League games were played due the third round of the League Cup and waterlogged pitches.

This allowed both Parley Sports and Wareham Rangers to move into the top half of the table.

Parley Sports defeated their visitors Hamworthy United Reserves 4-1.

Matthew Newbery bagged a brace for Sports, while Ben Bosley and Paul Rideout were also on target.

Jacob Wood scored the consolation for the Hammers.

Wareham Rangers returned from their trip to Sherborne with maximum points after hammering their hosts 5-1.

Jamie Beale grabbed two goals, while Ben Harding, David Best and Steven Yates also scored a goal apiece.

Daniel Call got on the scoresheet with a penalty conversion.

League Cup Third Round

Portland United booked a place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over Tintinhull.

Tintinhull took a 15th-minute lead through Jonathan Delahaye but a Mitchell Conning double ensured United a place in the last four of the competition.

Weymouth Reserves needed extra time to get past Cranborne.

The game finished 1-1 after normal time but Weymouth went goal-crazy in the additional 30 minutes, adding four goals after Cranborne’s keeper was sent off.

League leaders Holt United had a far easier passage into the semis, thumping Blandford United 6-3.

United raced into a 4-1 lead by half-time and, despite conceding twice in the second period, held on to seal a semi-final spot.
