STRIKER Andy Jennings has swapped Billingham Synthonia for Blyth Spartans.

Spartans boss Paddy Atkinson feels the 29-year-old is just the kind of player the club need to help them move up the Northern Premier League Premier Division table.

Speaking to the club’s website, Atkinson said: “We’re pleased to get him on board, we’re trying to build a squad that is right for the demands of this league and Andy is the kind of player that we think will be ideal, as he will bring an entirely different dimension to our play.

“He’s 6ft5 and will win the majority of his headers, we are hoping that he gets amongst the goals, as he has done throughout his career, but also that we can use his strengths to benefit the players around him.”

Jennings’ first game for Blyth is likely to come at home to fourth-placed Witton Albion on Saturday.
