A SECOND-half fightback kept Matlock’s play-off hopes alive. Rushall will feel they deserved a share of the spoils, but after Danico Johnson had put them ahead in the 24th minute, goals from Niall McManus on 65 and Dwayne Wiley on 86 minutes gave Matlock the points.
Johnson took advantage of slack home defending to run onto a pass by Aaron Forde to slide a diagonal finish past Phil Barnes. Matlock’s play-off hopes looked all but over as they struggled to find a foothold in the match.
