WALTHAM ABBEY did the business as they secured all three points in a hard-fought encounter against a determined Heybridge Swiftswho proved difficult to break down.
On a bobbly dry pitch, Abbey took a massive stride to securing their Ryman One North place with a tight 1-0 win courtesy of a 60th-minute goal from leading scorer Darelle Russell.
Goalless at the break, the visitors had looked the more likely to score with Adam Bolle heading over fromclose range just before Abbey scored.
Despite pressing for a leveller, Abbey held firm and results elsewhere...
