DEFLATED and dejected in the wake of Tranmere’s playoff defeat, Micky Mellon re-stoked the ever-smoldering embers of the three-up debate.
“There has to be two up automatically and one from the play-offs,” said Mellon, whose side finished second to Lincoln on 95 points.
“I think there are teams in the Football League who are just hanging on and don’t have the ambition of many of the teams who are in the National League.”
