• Amazingly, no clubs were relegated from the Conference on the basis of their performances, with Margate being demoted due to ground concerns, Telford United folding and the winners and runners-up of the Unibond League not meeting the criteria for a place in the Football Conference. Northwich Victoria had finished bottom of the pile, winning just four matches all season.
