POOLE TOWN got off to the perfect start in an encounter clouded with controversy.
Late goals from Christian Oxlade- Chamberlain and Jake Smeeton were enough, despite Jake Reid heading home in the dying seconds.
Early chances fell to the hosts’ Jacob Cane and Ashley Harper.
But the Dolphins saw Luke Burbidge’s effort ruled offside just after the break.
Weston took the lead just past the hour – or so they thought. Reid bundled the ball home but Poole and the referee changed his mind and disallowed the goal.
Perhaps as a result Tristan Plummer lost his head...
