BIRD WINGS IT FOR DOVER BUT ONLY THANKS TO MITCH

TRANMERE’S stuttering start to the season continued after Ryan Bird clinched a shock victory for Dover with a controversial late penalty.
The Rovers defence was left bemused after Ritchie Sutton was adjudged to have fouled Bird in the box when it appeared the striker had slipped.

The visiting striker seemed unduly concerned by the drama and smashed his spot-kick down the middle past keeper Scott Davies.
