ASHTON UNITED ran out convincing winners against a Marine team which finished with ten men but were already a beaten side.
The Mariners began brightly but Billy Smart heading wide from eight yards. And their profligacy was costly as Ashton levelled in the 26th minute.
Liam Tomsett headed against the bar, keeper Ben Barnes brilliantly saved Nicky Platt’s follow-up effort but Jack Dyche fired home the rebound. James Murray then curled a 25-yarder inches wide before dinking the ball over onrushing Ashton keeper Ashley Firth but beyond the far post....
