The Yellows grabbed a 17th minute lead when Caleb Richards shrugged off defenders Kyle Morrison and Cameron Steele to beat home goalkeeper Dan Platt at his near post.
Visiting goalkeeper Anthony McMillan kept the lead intact when he raced smartly off his line to block Luke Shearer’s 22nd minute effort and then collected Shearer’s dangerous cross just before the interval.
