TWO goals from Matthew Chadwick were enough as Ashton claimed a win despite two late goals from the hosts.
Sean Cooke tested United keeper Ashley Firth early on with a free kick before the visitors took a tenth minute lead through Chadwick.
That lead was doubled ten minutes later as Chadwick’s lay off to skipper Mark Lees allowed the Ashton man to fire in from distance.
The hosts weren’t at the races although Nathan Cotterell went close as he shot into the side netting following Jamie Morgan’s pass.
