ROMFORD were unlucky to take just a point after being held at home by Witham.
Chris Taylor opened the scoring right on half-time, turning in the rebound from James Ishmail’s shot.
Debutant Vlad Sighiartau hit the post either side of half time before Tim Monsheju’s long-range shot for Witham beat an unsighted Michael Gooch. Witham hit the bar late on and Romford went close twice near the end, but the teams could not be separated come 90 minutes.
