BLYTH eased past struggling Gainsborough Trinity with Greg Rutherford and Sean Reid netting a brace each to secure a comfortable three points.
It was the visitors who created the first clear-cut chance, as Curtis Bateson beat two men before being denied by Spartans stopper Peter Jameson.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 32nd minute as Jarrett Rivers’ cross found Rutherford at the back post and he headed across goal and into the corner.
Reid was denied by a superb fingertip save by Trinity’s onloan Derby County goalkeeper...
