OXFORD CITY deserved their win thanks to a superb display from Freddie Grant.
Although the hosts enjoyed a lot of early possession, the visitors were happy to soak it up and hit Welling on the break and capitalise on defensive errors.
One such mistake allowed Mark Jones to break and cross but Matt Paterson had strayed offside before slotting home.
An attempted clearance then hit Paterson and fell into the path of Sam Nombe but he sidefooted his volley high and wide.
Jack Parkinson got on the end of a deep Welling corner but it was too high for him...
