NEITHER side had played for three weeks but Kettering showed no signs of rustiness as they emphasised their promotion ambitions.
Stratford had the Arctic wind behind them from kickoff and in only the second minute a Ben Stephens free kick was anxiously tipped over.
But it was Kettering who took the lead in the 14th minute when Stratford keeper Louis Connor advanced to deal with a long ball but only succeeded in barging over Matt Stevens to concede a penalty and Brett Solkhon lashed home.
