CHIPPENHAM TOWN took a giant step towards safety with a superb display against a lacklustre East Thurrock United.
The visitors outworked, outfought and outplayed the Rocks and thoroughly deserved the win which came courtesy of a goal in each half from Alex Ferguson and Josh Smile.
Ferguson broke the deadlock on 28 minutes when home keeper Lukas Lidakevicius failed to deal with a ball into the box and the merest touch from the Town man put it over the line.
