Chairman’s takeover vow

GATESHEAD chairman Richard Bennett has moved to assure supporters that he will only sell the club to the right person as meetings got underway this week with several interested parties.
Bennett is in the process of ending his three-year tenure with the National League side, a decision he revealed he made over the Christmas period.
The club’s progress in the FA Trophy delayed an announcement, but Bennett had already taken initial interest and held negotiations with a UK-based party.
