THIS FIXTURE brought back memories of last season’s game, when a financial crisis led to Merthyr fielding a youth team that lost 13-1. Times have certainly changed, as this year’s team comfortably beat a Chesham side short on firepower up front.
Chesham actually made the brighter start and could have taken the lead when Matt Bevans’ free kick beat keeper Joe Perry but flew just wide.
