SAM Cruttwell’s deflected lastminute strike helped Hastings United edge past VCD Athletic having twice fallen behind.
In a game of few chances, the visitors made the most of some slack defending to open their account on 33 minutes. A cross from the left was headed home by the unmarked Dominic Odusanya.
Hastings levelled things up two minutes later when Daniel Ajakaiye fired home.
VCD regained the lead on the stroke of half-time with Charlie MacDonald firing home from close range.
