MORPETH Town edged to a narrow FA Cup Preliminary Round victory at Craik Park at the expense of fellow Evo-Stik East rivals Marske United. Michael Turner’s 77th-minute header was the difference between the two sides in a game of few chances as both sides played impressively in the middle third, but lacked the final touch in the penalty box.
The game’s battleground was the middle of the park where current Northern League Player of the Season Craig Gott fought with Ben Sayer and David Carson for supremacy.
