FRUSTRATED REBELS DENIED

FC UNITED and Southport had to take a point each away as two of the bottom three sides clashed at Broadhurst Park.
With just a win each going into the game both teams would have been looking to get their season back on track with a moral boosting victory – but in the end settled for a drab draw.
The visitors had the first chance when former FC United striker Jason Gilchrist was brought down in the area.
Gilchrist stepped up to take the penalty but saw his effort go past former teammate Dave Carnell but bounce clear off the post.
