PERHAPS the players on both sides had their minds on next week’s home FA Cup engagements after their respective heroics in the previous round. Hitchin were the better side in the opening half hour, but St Neots had enough second half chances to have wrapped it up.
Home keeper Harry Reynolds was in early action saving from Lewis Ferrell and Alex Anderson and then in the space of five minutes Jack Green squandered two chances for Hitchin, volleying over the bar from a Macsen Fraser cross and firing wide from a Matt Spring corner.
