BATH City avoided an FA Cup banana skin, seeing off Lewes.
Lewis Carey showed sharp reactions to block Ross Stearn’s powerful low drive with Ryan Clarke following suit at the other end from Omarr Lawson’s curling effort for the visitors.
With seconds of the half remaining, Ryan Brunt touched home Stearn’s leftwing cross to give the Romans the lead.
Adam Mann made it two just after the break, finishing with aplomb from 20 yards, a left-footed drive out of Carey’s reach.
