LINNETS LACKING DISCIPLINE

PERSISTENCE paid off for Prescot Cables as they beat a hard-working Runcorn Linnets side, who had two men sent off in the first half.
Runcorn scored in the second minute when a free -kick evaded Kyle Haslam in the Cables goal to put the visitors ahead.
Linnets were reduced to 10 men after 13 minutes when Freddie Potter was sent off for violent conduct.
The visitors were then reduced to nine men when Michael Simpson was given a straight red card for handling the ball on the line. The resulting penalty saw Chris Almond score to make it 1-1 at the break.
