TWO goals in two secondhalf minutes from Dale Korie-Butler earned Widnes a 2-1 local derby win over Prescot Cables.
Cables were awarded a penalty when James McCulloch went down in the area under a Danny Ventre push.
Chris Almond’s spotkick was well-saved by Owen Wheeler – the keeper’s second penalty save in a week – but he was powerless to stop Almond blasting home the rebound.
Widnes equalised on the hour. Korie-Butler was played in behind, beating Kyle Haslam to the loose ball before slotting into an empty net.
