BLYTH SPARTANS made it five wins on the spin as Ashton’s poor run continued.
Sean Reid and Robbie Dale’s goals were enough for the in-form Spartans.
The visitors also had Sam Sheridan sent off in the final minutes to cap a disappointing day.
Both sides created early chances, Sheridan firing an effort over the bar for the Robins in the 16th minute.
Dan Maguire came closest to hitting an opener as Blyth’s top scorer’s 39th-minute effort rebounded off the post.
