GOALS either side of half-time gave Billericay the points at Eastborune but the win was overshadowed by the events which led to the visitors’ opener.
Just past the halfhour, Billericay’s Adam Coombes dived in bravely to head the ball as defender Tobi Adebayo-Rowling cleared off the line, and Sports skipper Sergio Torres caught Coombes with his boot.
Coombes was helped from the pitch into an ambulance and, after a long delay, Ross Lafayette slotted home the penalty.
