IN these pages recently, Matt Badcock wrote an excellent, impassioned column decrying the £5 million whip-round by Premier League clubs for the outgoing chief executive Richard Scudamore as a thank-you for making them very, very rich.
Matt made the point that this was a kick in the teeth to all in English football who keep the game going without the money that always seems to find the pockets of those who already have it.
