MERTHYR Town bagged three valuable points after shading a contest in which both teams had opportunities to win the game.
An even first 45 minutes saw Ian Taylor test visiting goalkeeper Tom McGill at the near Post whilst Jay Foulston headed over a Jamie Veale cross.
At the other end, Sam Smart and Ben Wright were wayward with long range efforts and at half time the stalemate was just about right with neither team deserving to lead at the break.
