JAMIE Rainford’s strike midway through the second half settled this encounter and silenced a 428 strong crowd at the Millbank Linnets Stadium.
Atherton Colleries defeat at Radcliffe makes things tight at the top of the table - and points were much prized for these two teams.
In the end Ramsbottom’s win moves them third in the table - two points off top spot - and leapfrogs them over Runcorn in the process too.
