Liddle leads way as Blyth bag elusive win

BLYTH SPARTANS finally won their first home league game in 2019 at the sixth attempt.
The Green Army had only been beaten once in 12 league matches on their travels, but that had not been mirrored on home soil. Goals either side of half-time from the impressive Michael Liddle and Sean Reid saw the Pilgrims lose their way.
Blyth had defender Louis Laing sent off on 76 minutes, but ace marksman Dan Maguire quickly made it three.
Robbie Dale had a free-kick tipped over the bar on 33 minutes, but eight minutes later Blyth had the lead.
