GAINSBOROUGH dropped points on Friday in their bid to make the play-offs in front of an 812-strong crowd at Northolme.
Trinity failed to break down a resolute Hednesford, Kieron Mills missing the first half ‘s best chance.
Mills blazed over after a slide-rule pass from Reece King, Alex Byrne’s free-kick brilliantly turned over by Jacob Weaver.
In the second period, Trinity captain Nathan Stainfield saw his header, from Byrne’s corner, cleared off the line, by returning Blue, Bradley Wells.
