GATESHEAD recorded their first home win at the fourth attempt to end Brackley’s minirevival.
A goal in each half from veteran Michael Nelson and Rotherham loanee Josh Kayode sunk the Saints.
Nelson rose unchallenged to head home Nicky Deverdics’ precision ninth-minute free kick.
Gateshead nearly doubled their lead four minutes later. Liam Agnew released JJ O’Donnell down the left, the schemer’s low angled shot saved one-handed by Danny Lewis.
