Shakers deserve a second coming

I AM glad that financial irregularities of the ownership of Bury FC are being investigated and welcome the Football Supporters’ Association’s calls for improved regulations (NLP, September 1).
I think it’s wise that a fans alliance look into taking over the running of the club but also hire a consortium to help them to pay off the debts left by the club’s somewhat dubious owner Steve Dale.
But if Bury are to reform as a phoenix club, the National League should also step in and properly scrutinise the financial running of the new club and have the finances audited as ...
