EARLY season league leaders Leek Town were knocked off the top of the table as they suffered their first defeat of the season at Cleethorpes Town, who came from behind to win 2-1.
A low drive from Rob Stevenson put Leek one to the good in the 12th minute, but the Owls quashed any hopes the away side had of running away with the match with a period of sustained pressure.
Cleethorpes remained patient and got their reward shortly before halftime, when top-scorer Scott Vernon hooked home smartly from 15 yards out.
