HITCHIN advanced to the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Cup after a narrow 1-0 victory away to Rovers.
In a game of few chances, Rovers were denied an opening goal when the referee and his assistant contrived to chalk off a Victor Osubu score for offside when, to most in the ground, Osubu came from an onside position to net.
This error was compounded for the home side when, just two minutes later, a low Hitchin free-kick resulted in a bout of pinball within the Rovers penalty area and Lewis Barker was on hand to finally poke home the only goal ...
