THE NEW SAINTS are number one at Christmas in the JD Cymru Premier – although the champions’ lead has been cut to just a point after they lost 2-1 at home against Cardiff Met. Joel Edwards put the Archers ahead in the fifth minute, flicking the ball home following a corner.
That lead lasted nine minutes with Simon Spender and Adrian Cieslewicz combining well down the right, with the latter eventually pulling the ball back across via a ricochet off Bradley Woolridge for Ryan Brobbel to fire home on his 100th league start.
