AARON Condon’s hat-trick got the new year up and running in the best possible fashion for Ashford United as they thumped Burgess Hill Town 7-0 in the Isthmian South East Division.
The visitors were utterly ruthless as a Harry Pollard own goal alongside efforts from David Smith, Josh Wisson and Levi Gold kept Ashford hot on the heels of league leaders Hastings United.
In a slow start it was actually Burgess Hill that had the better of proceedings, Mason Doughty firing just wide after a rapid counter-attack.
