POPE’S DIVINE INTERVENTION KEEPS U’S TOP OF THE PILE

LEAGUE leaders Hastings United kept up their impeccable home record with a Ben Pope-inspired 3-0 victory over struggling Ramsgate.
The Rams have won just twice this term and didn’t look like threatening United’s flawless form, particularly when Daniel Ajakaiye calmly slotted a through ball into the far corner within 12 minutes.
Things got better for the hosts at Pilot Field, Pope getting the first of his brace with a screamer, finding space before unleashing a thunderous strike into the top corner.
