AN 88TH-MINUTE penalty from Matt Bateman deservedly gave Royston victory, as they overcame a Banbury side who were so close to getting the draw they set out to achieve.
Banbury’s intentions were clear from the off, as within the first ten minutes the away goalkeeper, Jack Harding, was penalised for time wasting. Unfortunately for Royston, the resulting free-kick was blazed wildly over by Luke Warner-Eley.
