SHORTWOOD United joint manager Jason Scrivens had decided to step down from the post – despite the fact the team were pushing for promotion from Uhlsport Hellenic One West just as the season was cancelled early.
The former Shortwood player took over the reins last season when the onetime Southern League club were on the verge of collapse.
He then brought in Matty Blythe to work alongside him.
This season, the pair masterminded a turnaround which led to the side sitting in fourth place with just nine games left and everything to play for.
