PICKERING put road defeats at Knaresborough and Selby behind them to triumph in County Durham.
First half goals from new boys Leon Osbourne and Ben Clappison put the Pikes in the driving seat.
The experienced Osbourne beat Consett keeper Kyle Hayes with a low drive.
Northern Premier League visitors Pickering doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time. Consett failed to deal with a corner and Clappison found the net with a close-range header.
Jake Orrell missed a good chance to halve the deficit before Calvin Smith scored a beauty.
