SOUTH SHIELDS recorded an emphatic victory after Tuesday’s league draw with the same opponents.
On 14 minutes, Ashton keeper Greg Hartley fisted away Darius Osei’s header
But on 25 minutes a long ball released Jason Gilchrist who rounded Hartley and slid home the opener.
Just past the half hour Osei was played in by Callum Ross and netted left-footed from a tight angle.
The visitors extended their advantage midway through the second half as Robert Briggs finished Alex Kempster’s cross at the far post.
