MAIDSTONE had just enough nous to see off Hendon.
The Stones, in their first game of the season, nearly scored after 20 minutes when a Kreshnic Krasniqi’s lob dropped inches over.
Just before half-time, a surging run and drive from Hendon’s Simeon Olarerin went narrowly off target.
The only goal came 14 minutes from time when Krasniqi released Gavin Hoyte down the right with a delicate pass. Hoyte’s low cross was met by Ibrahim Olutade - on the pitch for only three minutes - whose flick found the bottom corner.
