REVITALISED Alvechurch ended title favourites Tamworth’s unbeaten start to the season, thanks to Kevin Monteiro’s dazzling solo goal.
Church, who had ended a 14-match winless league run in midweek, had to weather plenty of first-half pressure before snatching a goal one minute into first-half stoppage time.
Front-runner Monteiro collected a quick throw-in on the left flank, glided 30 yards past two markers and then clipped a superb finish over advancing keeper Jas Singh.
