WELL done, Tony (NLP, October 18)! Football is not just a game for the Premier League, It goes all the way down to the grass roots.
I remember when growing up in the 50s the local village football team used to change in my parents’ garage.
I have started going to my local club, Beckenham Town. It’s £4 to get in and they survive on attendances in double figures. But they soldier on.
With the big clubs having season tickets requiring a second mortgage, lifelong supporters are being thrown out.
